Extending the lifespan of leather items involves essential steps such as cleaning, protecting, and regular maintenance. Before proceeding with the following guidelines, it is crucial to ensure that your items are thoroughly dry both inside and outside.
Step 1: Gently Remove Surface Dirt Begin with a soft-bristled brush to delicately sweep away dirt, dust, and debris from your leather shoes. Brush gently along seams and soles, always moving in the direction of the leather’s natural grain. Avoid brushing against the grain to prevent damage.
Note: Never rub or brush against the grain, as this can harm the leather’s surface.
Step 2: Spot Clean if Needed If stubborn dirt remains, use a damp cloth for a more thorough clean. Gently rub the affected areas, taking care not to oversaturate or scrub harshly.
